The lowlands of Terai are inhabited chiefly by Tharus, Darais, Khumals, Majhis, Rajputs, Danwars, Rajbansis, Dhimals, Dhangars, and other groups that have ancestry in India. Despite the diversity in racial class, the people coexist mutually with love and respect spread all over the country.
Language of Nepal
Nepali is the official language of Nepal with more than 88 % of the people; according to the census 2011, using it for the purpose of communication. The checklist of language reads around 126 languages spoken in Nepal. Above all, Nepali is the one that connects all the races and tribes of Nepal. From the list the extinct one includes Dura, Kusunda, and Waling language.
Nepali language was formerly called Khaskura (language of rice farmers). Later, it was named Gorkhali, the language of Gorkha Kingdom, before the name Nepali was tagged. Other most commonly spoken language includes Maithali, Bhojpuri, Newari/Nepali Bhasa, Tharu,Awadhi, Magar, Bantawa, Gurung, Limbu, and Bajjika.
