This trek initiates from Phobjikha valley at 3000 meters passing through a pristine forest mixed up with juniper, bamboo, rhododendron, magnolia, firs, and spruce. Phobjikha stands as one of the few and popular glacial valleys in Bhutan which endows shelter to rare black-necked Cranes. This bird migrates to the valley in winter from arid and harsh plains of Tibetan plateau.
