The peak was first approached in 1975 by a Nepalese expedition led by Kumar Khagdar and Bikram Shah. However, the peak was actually summit by Lhakpa Tenzing, Sonam Gyalzen, Shambhu Tamang, and Sonam Hisi through the south ridge.
