Amadablam Expedition

Overview

Probably the most stunning mountain in the world, Mount Amadablam is regarde as the ‘Jewel of Khumbu’. Rising just above the monastery of Thyangboche, Amadablam is know for its unique cliffs, soaring ridges, ice-falls and steep rocky formations. It is also quote as ‘The third most popular Himalayan peak for permitted expeditions’. There are many other factors which makes this most exquisite and sought after peak. Attempt to Amadablam requires climbing permit along with a liaison officer. The period between April–May is the best time to climb Amadablam where as the period of September–October can also be used.

Southwest Ridge is the general route used to climb this mountain, which provides fair amount of challenge to the experienced climbers. Four camps will set up, including the base camp, where camps will set in rather unconventional locations. It is a technically challenging peak, hence rigorous training and experience is necessary. The ability to walk over this geographical wonder itself is a great reward and achievement. The spectacular views of Everest, Cho yu, Makalu and Lhotse will be an icing on the cake.
