Best Season for this Trip:

If you’re thinking about doing the Everest High Pass Trek, aim for spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November). These months just hit the sweet spot stable weather, spectacular mountain views, and much safer crossing of Kongma La, Cho La, and Renjo La.

Spring is a treat: rhododendrons burst into bloom and the trails turn into a colorful, lively show, while the temperatures stay comfortably mild. Autumn’s really popular too those post-monsoon skies are insanely clear, the air feels fresh, and the trails are dry. Perfect for trekking.

Sure, you can hike in winter or during the monsoon, but you’re up against heavy snow, icy paths, rain, and foggy, unpredictable visibility. If you want the best experience, Blaze Mountain says to stick with either spring or autumn for your trek.

Food and Accommodations on Trip:

Meal nutrition in Everest High Pass Trek has a wide variety from traditional meals to Western served along the track in teahouses. It offers you options of Tibetan bread, pancakes, porridge, eggs, and muesli for breakfast and a hot cup of tea/coffee. Dal Bhat, or rice, lentils, and vegetables, noodles, pasta, momo, fried rice, soups, and Sherpa stew are common for lunch and dinner and provide nutritious, filling meals to keep your journey going. Energy bars, biscuits, and fruit, together with drinks such as tea, coffee, and soft drinks, are available in most stops. The teahouses will cater for dietary preferences, although the options do become limited the higher up in altitude one travels.

Trek Accommodations: Basic lodges or teahouses with simple rooms with shared facilities. Twin beds in the room, and a stove is usually available in the room to heat the rooms up; however, the temperatures can drop substantially at night, especially as higher altitudes are reached. The higher the altitude, the more basic the teahouses are; the lower altitude ones usually provide better amenities. Most teahouses would offer blankets, although it's a good idea to bring your sleeping bag along as well for warmth. While the amenities may be basic, the warmth and hospitality of the Sherpa people make the accommodations an adventure unto themselves.
