Which season is best for trekking Langtang Valley?
Autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) are the ideal times of year to walk the Langtang Valley. With a bright sky, consistent weather, and appropriate temperatures, autumn is Nepal’s busiest trekking season. It offers the greatest views of the Himalayas and makes for a comfortable walk. After the monsoon, the paths are less muddy, making it a great opportunity to take pictures. Another great season is spring, which is marked by moderate temperatures, nice weather, and the breathtaking view of rhododendron woods in full bloom.
Spring is often less busy than fall, but it still offers fantastic weather and sights. With bright skies, comfortable temperatures, and breathtaking natural splendor, both seasons provide ideal hiking conditions.
Food & Accommodation in Langtang Valley:
Food: The food available in Langtang Valley is more or less Tibetan and Nepali cuisine, with an emphasis on rice, dal, and vegetables. You may get a number of options: dal bhat, momo, thukpa, chapati, among others. For snacking, one can get boiled or fried potatoes, cheese, and biscuits. Some guesthouses also offer some Western options, such as pancakes, pasta, or omelets. It is worth noting, though, that food prices rise with the height because it’s hard to truck supplies up.

Though the rooms generally have twin beds with blankets, it is recommended to bring a sleeping bag for added comfort, especially at higher altitudes. Higher up on routes at places like Kyanjin Gompa, accommodation will be very basic, where sharing a toilet is very normal.
