Best Season for this Trip:
The best time to go Mera Peak Climbing is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offers the most pleasant weather, glorious mountain views and the highest opportunity of reaching the summit. The spring and autumn months are when the weather can be relied to be steady, the views are magnificent, the generally safer conditions for trekking and climbing and the views of Everest Lhotse Makalu, Cho Oyu and other Himalayan giants are photogenic.
Spring is the best season for trekking/Climbing. Milder weather and attractive natural beauty attracts most of trekkers and mountaineers during spring time. The slopes to Mera Peak from lower sides are surrounded by blossoming rhododendron forest, green lush forest and colorful alpine plants. The weather becomes warmer and the days longer; both of which are a big advantage to trekkers. Also, better snow-pack condition (on upper slopes) brings excellent climbing season. April and May is the best mountaineering season for warm weather and panorama of Himalayan.
Autumn is also listed as one of the top seasons for a Mera Peak trek. After the monsoon rains, "views are spectacular from the peaks and ridges, and the eyes are treated to stunning vistas of the mountain scenery." The trails are dry, weather is stable, and visibility is great. "October and early November has the best weather for a Mera Peak climb with an excellent chance of good weather, the right temperatures, and uninterrupted vistas."
