Best Season for this Trip:
The best time to visit for a Tilicho Lake Trek is between September and November, fall, or from March to May, spring. Temperatures during the fall daytime range between 10°C and 20°C, and nighttime temperatures fall below -5°C to 5°C. This is peak season mainly because of clear and stable weather. Temperatures in spring range between 10°C and 15°C during the day and from -5°C to 0°C at night. Clear sky and colorful blossoms are other features of this season that make hiking ideal. Trekking is best done in all seasons due to pleasant temperatures and excellent visibility.
In contrast, winters are extremely cold: -15°C to -5°C at night and 0° to 10+°C during the day. Snow may render routes a bit difficult and not as easily accessible; thus, unless you are a keen trekker, it is not recommended. Summer takes place between June and August and has milder daytime temperatures that range from 15°C to 25°C. During this period, however, there are intensive monsoon rains that make the trails also muddy as well as slippery. Thus, the season should be avoided due to the risks related to monsoon weather. Overall, there are autumn and spring seasons, during which the walk would be quite pleasant and safe.

Food and Accommodations on Trip:
Accommodations and food are basic and adequate for trekkers in Tilicho Lake Trek. Most of the tea houses en route provide local food items like dal bhat, momo, and noodles, and simple western options such as pancakes and toast can easily be found in the lower altitude zones. As it ascends, food options reduce, though hot drinks such as tea, coffee, and chocolate are highly found everywhere to keep you warm.
Accommodation is in the form of tea houses or lodges, varying from the lower-altitude, simple, family-run ones with basic rooms to most rustic ones close to Tilicho Base Camp. The rooms usually contain a bed, a pillow, and a blanket, though it's best to carry a sleeping bag to be on the safer side. As it goes to a high altitude, the facilities provided decrease, and shared bathrooms may be expected. However, the local hospitality keeps it warm and cozy, although electricity and hot water might be limited to the higher altitude areas.
